Brakes and other Maintenance

Keep your vehicle on the Road with routine Maintenance.

We understand that the average person doesn't know when to service their vehicle in order to keep it in the best shape. We don't expect you to know it all, so these are a few of the major systems in your vehicle, with tips on how you can keep them in the best condition throughout the life of your vehicle.

Brakes

With routine Break Maintenance. We recommend checking your brakes every 20,000 miles, but a check should be performed immediately if the vehicle presents signs of vibration. This can not only put you in risk of an accident, but can cause unnecessary stress on other parts.

The main signals that indicate that the brake disc or brake pads are worn or deteriorated are:

• the warning light comes on (when one is present, and only for the brake pads)
• noise occurs during braking
• presence of vibrations
• presence of deep circular lines or radial cracks on the braking band
• signs of overheating

Battery

When Maintaining and know when to change your Battery, there are a few things to keep in mind. Regular battery testing can ensure you and your love ones have a battery that is ready to start your vehicle in any condition. Regular care can go a long way toward making your car battery last longer and perform better during its lifetime. Most general auto parts stores will offer free battery tests for you on the spot.

Air Filters

Air filters are easy to slide or swap out, and it's one of the few things you can do to maintain your filter without the help of a technician. You should always double-check your owner's manual for specific recommendations, but generally speaking it's best to clean or change your filters once every 9 to 12 months. Remember, regular cleaning/changing of your filter will ensure the best filtration, increase the life of your machine, and give you peace of mind that you're breathing easier.

Windshield Wipers

Wiper blades should be replaced around once a year or as soon as you notice a difference in driving visibility. When wiper blades no longer make proper contact with the windshield surface, they can begin to squeak, chatter, skip, smear or streak reducing driving visibility. Visibility is fundamental to safe driving. Although drivers depend on their vehicles' wiper blades to clear away rain, sleet and snow, many wait to replace them until they need them the most. So remembering to maintain wiper blades regularly can maximize visibility, efficiency and reliability.
